The smoothE project is a collaborative project between France and Germany.

French partner

Laurent Joly is a professor at University of Lyon 1. He is an expert of nanofluidic transport, which he models by combining analytical developments and numerical simulations at different scales, with an emphasis on molecular dynamics simulations. Webpage

Samy Merabia is CNRS research director at the Institute Light and Matter close to Lyon. His research interests include thermal transport and phase transitions around plasmonic nanoparticles, nanofluidics for energy conversion, thermal transport in the near field regime and transport properties of polymer nanocomposites. Together with his students and postdocs, he performs analytical as well as atomistic calculations and phase field simulations. Webpage

Mehdi Ouadfel is a PhD student at the Institute of Light and Matter, specialized in the study of transport phenomena driven by temperature gradients. He uses atomistic simulations to study nanofluidic systems.

German partner

Steffen Hardt is a professor at TU Darmstadt. His research interests include gas kinetics on the nanoscale, transport processes in electrolyte solutions and at liquid interfaces, wetting phenomena, and separation processes for biomolecules. His group performs experimental as well as theoretical/numerical work. Webpage

Doyel Pandey holds a PhD in mathematics from IIT Kharagpur, India, and currently works as a postdoctoral fellow at TU Darmstadt, where she focuses on thermally-induced transport phenomena in nanochannels.
