We work on method development in the field of many body perturbation theory at the GW level, as well as in time dependent density functional theory (TDDFT).
Molecular electronics terms a relatively new field in nanoscience, which features individual molecules as constituting elements of electronic devices. These microscopic devices have the same input/output characteristics as conventional mesoscopic diodes or transistors.
Quantum Dots are objects that confine electrons in all three dimensions and may be seen as macromolecules. Due to their favourable optical properties, they are for example used in biological imaging as fluorescent markers.
We work on the understanding and optimization of materials for
photovoltaic applications and luminescent materials like organic light
emitting diodes.
